745-SS Rock Climbing Hanger in Steel or Stainless Steel

745-SS is a bent-plate climbing hanger with a large clipping eye and a bolt hole, offered in steel or stainless steel for 10 mm or 12 mm bolts. The listed breaking strength is 25 kN for steel and 30 kN for stainless steel. The photograph shows the stainless version with a wide, rounded clipping eye; the second image is a dimension drawing.

Hangers are the visible part of a bolted protection point: the bolt is set in the rock and the hanger provides an eye for a quickdraw or connector. They are used on sport routes, multi-pitch belays, climbing gyms and training towers, and in canyoning and caving where permanent anchors are installed. Choosing the hanger material to match the bolt avoids galvanic corrosion between dissimilar metals.

In Europe, rock anchors are assessed under EN 959, which sets minimum radial and axial strengths for the installed anchor.
