730 Climbing Hanger in Stainless Steel or Steel

The 730 is a climbing hanger available in stainless steel or steel, in 10 mm or 12 mm sizes. The product photograph shows the hanger fitted at the top of a length of chain, the arrangement used for chain belay and lower-off stations.

Hangers like 730 are installed on bolted sport routes, at belay and rappel stations, in climbing gyms and on training towers, and in canyoning and caving where permanent anchors are used. Stainless steel is the usual choice for outdoor rock, and the hanger and bolt should be of compatible materials to avoid galvanic corrosion.

No breaking strength is published for 730, so buyers should obtain rated values before specifying it for climbing or fall protection use. In Europe, rock anchors are assessed under EN 959, which sets minimum radial and axial strengths for the installed anchor. An RFQ should specify material, bolt diameter, finish and whether chain, rings or bolts are to be supplied with the hanger.
