725 Climbing Hanger with Ring

725 combines a hanger and a ring in one unit. The ring is captive in the hanger's eye, as the photograph shows, so a rope can be threaded through it for lowering or abseiling without leaving equipment behind. It is available in stainless steel or steel for 10 mm or 12 mm bolts. The listed breaking strength is 26 kN for stainless steel and 18 kN for steel. Ring hangers are used at the top of sport routes, at rappel stations on multi-pitch climbs and canyons, and on climbing walls. Two ring hangers placed side by side form a simple two-point lower-off. Because rope running through a ring wears it over time, operators and route developers should inspect and replace rings as part of anchor maintenance.
