A765 Aluminium Alloy Hanger for 8 mm Anchors

The A765 hanger is made of aluminium alloy, 4 mm thick, and weighs only 23 g. It is offered for 8 mm anchors, and its listed breaking strength is 15 kN; the dimension drawing in the second image marks the 15 kN load direction across the hanger and an 8 mm bolt hole. The photograph shows a bent, polished hanger with a large connector opening and a smaller bolt hole.

Light aluminium hangers are associated with caving and expedition rigging, where teams carry their own hangers and fit them to 8 mm anchors on each pitch, and with temporary or training installations. For permanent outdoor anchors, steel or stainless steel hangers matched to the bolt material are normally preferred, because aluminium in contact with steel can corrode galvanically in wet conditions.
