MS-240 Steel D-Ring, 22 kN, 7 mm

MS-240 is made of steel, 7 mm thick, and rated at 22 kN breaking strength. It is a close relative in rating of the MS-239, which reaches the same 22 kN with a slightly thinner 6.5 mm section, so the two give a designer a choice of section for the same rated strength.

A 7 mm steel D-ring is a common fitting on the back, chest or side of a full body harness and on the side rings of work positioning belts, where it receives the snap hook or carabiner of a lanyard or self-retracting lifeline. The slightly heavier section adds bearing area against the connector, which some designers prefer for wear life.

Length, width and finish are not listed for this model, so request a drawing and confirm the webbing width, surface finish and any marking needed. As with any component, the rating of the finished harness depends on testing the whole assembly. The MS-240 can carry a customer's brand as OEM or private-label hardware, and Power Honour can modify it to a drawing.
