Model 116

The 116 is a D-ring made from heat-treated sheet alloy steel, with a minimum breaking load of 5000 lbs (22.2 kN) and 100% proof loading to 3600 lbs (16 kN). It is used as a harness and belt attachment ring where a flat, stamped profile is preferred.

Product details

Where the 406 is forged, the 116 is produced from sheet alloy steel and then heat treated. The performance figures are the same: 100% proof loaded to 3600 lbs (16 kN) and a minimum breaking load of 5000 lbs (22.2 kN).

A ring made from sheet steel has a flat profile that lies close to the webbing, which is why stamped D-rings are popular on harness back pads, positioning belts and lanyard ends where a low profile is wanted. Stamping is also efficient for high-volume programmes. Per-piece proof loading gives the buyer confidence that every ring delivered has been checked against a defined load.

Buyers should confirm which harness standard their product targets and whether the proof-test records need to accompany shipments. Dimensions, thickness and finish are not listed for the 116, so request a drawing and specify webbing width, plating and marking in the RFQ. Power Honour can supply the 116 as OEM or private-label hardware and can modify it to a customer drawing.
