408-N Overmolded Forged Steel D-Ring for 50 mm Webbing

The 408-N starts as a forged steel D-ring with a 9 mm diameter section, measuring 116.1 x 80 mm, and is then overmolded, meaning a moulded covering is applied over the metal. It is designed for 50 mm webbing.

Overmolding is used on harness D-rings to cushion the contact between steel and webbing, reduce wear on the stitching area, protect the wearer from a hard metal edge and add a colour accent that helps users identify attachment points. These rings are typically found on full body harnesses at the dorsal, sternal or side positions, and on positioning belts built on 50 mm webbing.

No breaking strength is published for the 408-N, so buyers should confirm the rating required by their harness standard and verify it with samples.
