The A904 descender pairs an aluminium alloy body in an anodised finish with a tab in SS304 stainless steel. Net weight is 345 g and the device is compatible with ropes from 9 mm to 12 mm, the same weight and rope range as A902.
Descenders of this class are used on the working line of a two-rope system, with a separate back-up device on the safety line, by rope access technicians, maintenance crews on towers, bridges and wind turbines, and industrial rescue teams. They allow the operator to descend at a controlled speed and stop to work in position.
When preparing an RFQ, buyers should specify the rope types to be validated, the certification target for their market, anodised colour and marking. Since A902 and A904 share key figures, it is worth confirming with Power Honour which details, such as finish and the SS304 tab, are required for the intended application.
