Product details
The SS453 key pin swivel snap shackle is made from AISI 316 stainless steel. A plunger-operated jaw opens for quick release, while the swivel end is closed by a key pin, so the shackle can be pinned directly to a fitting, sail or strap. Three sizes are listed: L 70 mm (A 12, B 12, C 12 mm), L 87 mm (A 16, B 13, C 13 mm) and L 128 mm (A 22, B 16, C 22 mm).
Swivel snap shackles are used on spinnaker sheets and guys, halyards, and tack and clew attachments, where the line must spin without twisting and must also be released under load. Grade 316 limits corrosion in salt-water use. Buyers should agree the working or breaking load they need with Power Honour before specifying the part for a particular rig; it is not lifting or fall-protection equipment.
The standard swivel version with the same lengths is SS451. Both can be supplied under a private label or modified to a customer drawing.
