SS0182 316 Stainless Steel Jaw and Jaw Swivel

The SS0182 has a pinned jaw at each end, so it can be attached directly to two chain links, eyes or padeyes without additional shackles, while the swivel lets the two sides turn independently. It is made from AISI 316 stainless steel in five sizes: 6, 8, 10, 13 and 16 mm. Overall length L runs from 66 mm to 188 mm, and B, C and D are given for each size.

The listed breaking loads are 1350 kg (6 mm), 2500 kg (8 mm), 3500 kg (10 mm), 6000 kg (13 mm) and 10800 kg (16 mm). As breaking loads rather than working limits, they need to be reduced by a safety factor suited to the use. Fewer components in the load path is the main reason to choose a double-jaw swivel, for example between an anchor and its chain, or in mooring and marine rigging assemblies.
