Product details
SS225 is a bolt snap with a swivel eye, made in AISI 316 stainless steel. A spring-loaded bolt slides back under the thumb to open the hook, and the swivel eye lets the attached rope, chain or strap turn freely. Five sizes are listed: 3/8 in. (9 mm), 1/2 in. (12 mm), 5/8 in. (16 mm), 3/4 in. (19 mm) and 1-1/4 in. (32 mm). Overall length L runs from 64 to 115 mm and W from 18 to 34 mm, with D, S, H, d and t also given on the drawing.
Bolt snaps of this pattern are used on pet and livestock leads, flag halyards, bags and equipment straps, gate chains and marine lanyards, where 316 stainless steel resists corrosion in wet and salty conditions. The snap is general hardware without a published working load and should not be used for lifting or fall protection.
