The SS018 is an eye and eye swivel in AISI 316 stainless steel, with a closed eye at each end. Eight sizes from 5 mm to 20 mm are listed, with breaking loads of 820 kg to 16100 kg, for chain, rope and mooring connections that must rotate.

Product details
The SS018 is the simplest of the stainless swivels: two closed eyes joined by a swivel, made from AISI 316 stainless steel. It also has the widest size range of the three swivel types, with eight sizes: 5, 6, 8, 10, 12, 13, 16 and 20 mm. Overall length L runs from 59 mm to 231 mm, and the drawing gives L1, B and B1 for each size.
Listed breaking loads (BL) are 820, 1350, 2500, 3500, 4500, 6000, 10800 and 16100 kg in order of size. Working loads have to be set well below these figures with a safety factor suited to the application. Because both eyes are closed, the swivel is connected with shackles or links at each end, a common arrangement on anchor rodes, mooring buoys, fishing lines and hanging displays that must turn.
Eye and jaw (SS0181) and jaw and jaw (SS0182) versions are also listed. Power Honour can supply the SS018 under a private label or modified to a customer drawing.
