Switching from cable to webbing changes the character of a self-retracting lifeline, and the SRL-6Webbing shows it clearly: with 6 m of Dyneema webbing 19 mm wide, the unit weighs 1.8 kg net, against 4.5 kg for the 6 m cable SRL-6. The minimum breaking strength is 12.5 kN, the maximum dynamic force is listed at 6 kN, and it is stated to meet EN 360.
Dyneema is a high-modulus polyethylene fibre, strong for its weight, and webbing is gentler on surfaces than wire rope. That makes this unit a good match for scaffolding, roofing, maintenance and general construction tasks where a lighter block is easier to carry, install and move between anchors. Webbing is more vulnerable to cutting and heat than cable, so buyers should state whether any edge exposure or hot work is expected.
