AD-01 Aluminium Rescue Tripod

The AD-01 is built from aluminium alloy, keeping the complete tripod at 25 kg so it can be carried to site and set up over an opening. Extended, it reaches a maximum height of 2.3 m. The specification gives a minimum breaking strength of 12 kN and a maximum working load of 1200 lbs, and lists a winch cable length of 10 to 20 m.

Rescue tripods are the standard way to create a temporary anchor point above vertical access points, such as sewer and utility manholes, tanks, vaults and shafts, where workers are lowered in and must be retrievable in an emergency. A winch and, where required, a retrieval-type fall arrester are mounted to the tripod head or leg.
