Glider-8-ribs Stainless Steel 316 Lifeline Shuttle with Reinforced Ribs

The Glider-8-ribs develops the Glider-8 shuttle with a reinforced rib design intended for durability. It is made of stainless steel 316, runs on 8 mm wire rope, has a breaking strength of more than 12 kN and weighs 361 g net.

As the moving anchorage on a horizontal lifeline, the shuttle carries the user's lanyard or energy absorber along the cable. Grade 316 stainless steel is generally preferred for coastal, marine and industrial atmospheres. Uses include lifelines on roofs, walkways, bridges, ship and port structures and via ferrata traverses.

Buyers should check that the shuttle is compatible with the brackets, corner pieces and terminals in their system, and that its rating fits the system design. The 12 kN figure is a component breaking strength, not a system rating, so the complete lifeline still has to be designed and verified by a competent person against the applicable standard. The Glider-8-ribs can be supplied as OEM or private-label product, or modified to a customer drawing.
