Glider-8 Stainless Steel Lifeline Shuttle for 8 mm Rope

The Glider-8 shuttle is designed to let the user move easily and safely along the lifeline, and it can be connected and disconnected at any point along the system rather than only at the line ends. It is made of stainless steel and is compatible with 8 mm rope. A reinforced version with ribs, in stainless steel 316 and with a published breaking strength, is listed as the Glider-8-ribs.

The shuttle is the user's moving anchorage: the lanyard or energy absorber connects to it, and it follows the user along the cable. Being able to attach mid-span is useful on long lines, where users may need to join or leave the system at access points along a roof, walkway or via ferrata traverse.

Buyers should request the breaking strength of the Glider-8 and confirm compatibility with the cable, brackets and terminals in their system. Users must be trained in attaching and checking the shuttle. The Glider-8 can be supplied as OEM or private label, or adapted to a drawing.
