The 316A self-locking hook is listed for chain from 6 mm to 16 mm. At the small end, the 6 mm hook measures L 108 mm, B 28 mm, E 24 mm and G 14.5 mm and is rated at 1.25 ton. The 7+8 mm hook is rated at 2.0 ton, the 10 mm at 3.2 ton (G 28.5 mm) and the 13 mm at 5.4 ton, while the 16 mm hook measures L 254 mm, B 63 mm and E 50 mm and carries 8.0 ton. Minimum breaking load is four times the working load limit.
On this type of hook, the latch closes and locks automatically and stays locked until the operator presses the release trigger, preventing accidental release during the lift. Self-locking hooks are used where load security is a priority, for example in construction, precast, steel erection and shipbuilding. The 316A is a lifting component and is not intended for personal fall protection.
Its dimensions match those of the 317A clevis self-locking hook; buyers should confirm the 316A's connection type on the drawing. The 316A can be supplied under OEM or private label.
