A722-1 Aluminium 7075 Captive-Eye Snap Hook

Each part of the A722-1 uses a different material chosen for its job. The body is aluminium 7075, a high-strength alloy; the gate is aluminium 6061; and the latch is SS304 stainless steel. Overall the hook is 140 mm long and 70 mm wide, opens to 25 mm, has a 20 mm captive eye, weighs 136 g, and carries a 25 kN breaking strength.

The captive eye holds a sewn webbing loop or rope termination in a fixed position, so the hook stays aligned with the lanyard and is loaded along its strong axis. That makes A722-1 a typical choice for the user end or anchor end of shock-absorbing lanyards and for the connector on a self-retracting lifeline, in construction, industrial and utility fall protection.

Before ordering, check that the 20 mm captive eye suits your webbing width or rope diameter, and confirm the locking sequence, finish and marking your target standard requires.
