The A722 is an aluminium alloy connector with a 25 kN breaking strength, a 22 mm opening and a weight of 119 g. That is 17 g lighter than the A722-1, which adds a captive eye and a 25 mm opening and specifies 7075, 6061 and SS304 for its body, gate and latch.
At 119 g, A722 suits applications where several connectors hang from one harness, such as twin-leg lanyards or work-positioning set-ups, and where users wear equipment for a full shift. A 22 mm opening is sized for D-rings, anchor slings and dedicated anchor points rather than for clipping around structure.
