3141 Forged Steel Double-Action Swivel Snap Hook

Model 3141 is of forged steel construction, 190 mm long and 70 mm wide, with a 19 mm gate opening. The double-action gate requires the keeper to be pressed before the gate can open. Listed strengths are 40 kN minimum tensile, 3,600 lbs (16 kN) minimum gate strength and 3,600 lbs (16 kN) minimum side load strength.

It is listed as conforming to ANSI/ASSE Z359.12-2009 and CSA Z259.12-11, the United States and Canadian standards for connecting components in personal fall arrest systems. That makes 3141 relevant to lanyard, self-retracting lifeline and positioning-system makers selling into North America. The swivel eye lets the attached line rotate under the hook, limiting twist in webbing or cable.
