3031 Forged Alloy Steel Single Latch Hook

Model 3031 is forged from alloy steel and heat treated. It is a single latch hook, and every piece is 100% proof loaded to 3600 lbs / 16 kN, with a minimum breaking load of 5000 lbs / 22.2 kN.

The load figures place it in the same strength class as the forged steel safety snap hooks 311 and 315, but the single latch design is simpler. Hooks of this style are used on restraint lines, equipment lanyards and general connections where a strong forged steel hook is needed.

Confirm the locking behaviour of the latch before specifying 3031 for personal fall arrest, because many fall-protection standards and regulations require self-closing, locking gates on the connectors in such systems.
