2480SG Steel Safety Carabiner, 16 mm Opening

2480SG is made from steel and opens to 16 mm. The breaking strength is listed as 35 kN, 7 kN and 7 kN. Carabiners are commonly marked with three strength values, usually major axis with the gate closed, minor axis and gate open. Check the drawing to see which value applies to which loading direction.

With its small opening, the 2480SG is intended for connections to defined hardware rather than structure: a lanyard to a harness attachment, an energy absorber to a rope grab, or an anchor strap to a lanyard.
