A717KTL Aluminium Keylock Twist-Lock Carabiner

Weighing 90 g, the A717KTL is the twist-lock version of the A717KSG. It shares the 22 mm gate opening, aluminium alloy body and keylock nose, and is rated at 25 kN on the major axis and 9 kN for minor-axis and gate-open loading. The spring-loaded sleeve rotates closed and locks whenever the gate is released.

That self-locking action is useful for climbing instructors, wall staff and anyone repeatedly attaching and removing belay devices or anchor connections, because there is no sleeve to forget. As with any locking carabiner, users should still check that the gate is fully locked before loading it.
