A004WR 7075 Aluminium Wire-Gate Carabiner

The A004WR body is made from 7075 aluminium, a high-strength alloy widely used for climbing connectors, and the gate is an SS304 stainless steel wire. The carabiner measures 77.4 mm long and 49 mm wide, opens to 18 mm and weighs 20 g. Its breaking strengths are listed as 22 kN, 7 kN and 7 kN, the first being the closed-gate major-axis rating.

At this size and weight the A004WR suits lightweight quickdraws, alpine racking and other climbing set-ups where every gram counts. Wire gates are generally lighter than solid gates and less prone to gate flutter or icing in cold conditions.
