Product details
The Contact Sling is listed with a strength of 22 kN and is available in two materials, Dyneema and nylon. It is a customised product, so specification details are agreed per order, and it meets CE EN 566, the European standard for mountaineering slings.
The choice of material changes how the sling behaves. Dyneema (high-modulus polyethylene) is very light and strong for its width and absorbs little water, but it stretches very little and has a low melting point. Nylon is heavier and bulkier, yet it stretches more and tolerates heat better. Many brands offer both so climbers can choose for alpine weight saving or general durability.
Typical uses include equalising anchors, extending placements to reduce rope drag, and girth-hitching trees or boulders. Buyers should specify material, width, length, colour and labelling. Power Honour can supply the Contact Sling under private label to the buyer's specification.
