Pipeform Anchors

1 product

A pipeform anchor is a formed stainless steel anchor that fits around a pipe, tube or similar round structural member, creating a point where a lanyard, self-retracting lifeline or other fall protection connector can be attached. The design suits industrial plants, construction sites, scaffolding and process facilities where round sections are available as structure, and stainless steel gives corrosion resistance for outdoor and wet environments. Anchors are offered in more than one size to fit different structure diameters. In the EU, anchor devices are generally assessed under EN 795, and in North America anchorage connectors are covered by ANSI/ASSP Z359.18, with OSHA setting anchorage strength requirements. The supporting structure must also be verified by a competent person. Pipeform anchors can be supplied OEM or private label, or made to a customer drawing.

Frequently asked questions

What is a pipeform anchor used for?
It wraps around a pipe or tube to provide a connection point for fall protection equipment, such as an energy-absorbing lanyard or a self-retracting lifeline. It is useful where pipework, scaffold tube or round beams are the only practical structure near the work area. The anchor must be sized to the structure it fits around.
How strong does the structure need to be?
The anchor is only as good as the structure it is fitted to. In the US, OSHA requires anchorages for personal fall arrest to support at least 5,000 lb (22.2 kN) per attached worker unless designed by a qualified person as part of a complete system with a safety factor of at least two. A competent person should confirm the pipe or tube can carry the expected loads.
Which standards apply to anchors like this?
In Europe, anchor devices are generally covered by EN 795, while some formed anchors are assessed as connectors under EN 362, depending on design. In North America, ANSI/ASSP Z359.18 covers anchorage connectors for active fall protection systems. Brand owners should decide which standard their product will be certified to before sampling.
Why stainless steel?
Stainless steel resists corrosion without a coating that can wear away, which matters for anchors left outdoors, near the sea or in process plants. It also keeps a clean appearance and can be inspected easily for damage. The trade-off is higher material cost than plated carbon steel.
What information is needed for an OEM quotation?
Provide the range of pipe or tube diameters to be covered, the target standard and strength, the marking and user information required, and expected quantities. If the standard sizes do not fit your application, a drawing of the required geometry allows a custom version to be evaluated.

Need this in a different specification?

Different size, material, finish, strength rating or gate, or a part that is not here at all. Send a drawing or a sample and we will come back with a DFM review and a quotation.

  • A reply within two business days from our team in Taipei.
  • NDA on request before drawings or specifications change hands.
  • An engineering and DFM review, not a sales pitch — we will say so if we are the wrong fit.
