Product details
The IS-1010 is offered in two materials, steel and stainless steel, and three lengths: 12, 17 and 22 cm. A handle on the hanger lets the climber crank the screw into the ice without a separate tool, which speeds up placements on steep ground.
Ice screws are the main form of protection in waterfall ice climbing and are also used for anchors and crevasse-rescue set-ups on glaciers. Shorter screws suit thin ice, while longer ones are preferred for anchors in thick, solid ice. Stainless steel offers better corrosion resistance for gear that is often stored wet.
Ice screws sold as climbing protection in Europe are expected to meet EN 568, so buyers should specify the strength rating, standard and testing they require for the IS-1010 in the RFQ. Power Honour can supply the IS-1010 under private label in the listed lengths and materials, or modify the hanger, handle or tube to a drawing.
