Carabiner Keychains
2 products
Carabiner keychains are accessory clips shaped like carabiners but intended only for keys, bags, bottles, ID lanyards, small tools and promotional or retail merchandise. They are not climbing equipment or personal protective equipment and must never be used to support a person, arrest a fall or lift loads. Power Honour lists two aluminium designs, L-246 and L-248, each made in Taiwan in four sizes from 5 mm to 8 mm. Because accessory carabiners resemble climbing hardware, a clear "not for climbing" warning on the product or packaging is good practice, and those sold to consumers in the EU fall under the General Product Safety Regulation (EU) 2023/988. Both designs can be supplied OEM or under a private label, with size mix, colours, branding and packaging specified by the buyer.

Frequently asked questions
- Can carabiner keychains be used for climbing?
- No. Carabiner keychains are accessories and are not tested or certified as climbing or fall-protection connectors. They must not be used to hold body weight, in any safety system or for lifting.
- What sizes are available?
- L-246 and L-248 are each offered in four sizes, designated 5 mm, 6 mm, 7 mm and 8 mm. Request the drawing for the exact overall dimensions of each size before finalising packaging or display designs.
- Which rules apply to accessory carabiners sold in the EU?
- Accessory carabiners sold to consumers are covered by the General Product Safety Regulation (EU) 2023/988, which requires products to be safe and to carry adequate warnings and traceability information. A clear "not for climbing" statement helps prevent foreseeable misuse.
- What should an order for promotional carabiner keychains specify?
- Give the model, size mix, colours, logo or branding method, quantity per size and packaging or carding requirements, plus any warning text the target market requires. Power Honour can supply both designs under a private label.
