Product details
The A950 is built from a steel head mounted on an aluminium alloy shaft. Five lengths are listed, 60, 65, 70, 75 and 80 cm, which spans the usual sizing range for walking and mountaineering axes.
Axes of this type are carried for glacier travel, snow slopes and winter walking, where they serve as a walking aid, an anchor plunged into the snow, a tool for cutting steps and the means of self-arrest after a slip. Users generally choose a longer shaft for walking on moderate slopes and a shorter one for steeper terrain.
Buyers selling the A950 as PPE in Europe should state the required standard (EN 13089 covers ice tools) and the CE classification they need in the RFQ. Power Honour can supply the A950 in the listed lengths under private label, or modify the head or shaft to a drawing.
